Rev. D. P. Cassidy
Senior Pastor, Redeemer Presbyterian Austin, Texas
Pastor Cassidy and his wife Toni have been married for 29 years and are the parents of three children: Sean (20), Claire (18), and Anna (6). David has been the Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian since 2005, previously serving congregations in Kentucky and England. He was ordained in 1980 and has served as a campus evangelist, church planter, and in missionary leadership development in numerous countries throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He and Toni have been very active in pro-life ministries and Christian education, helping to launch a crisis pregnancy center, as well as a Christian School. He attended the University of Evansville in his home state of Indiana before moving to Britain to study history, literature, and theology at Oxford. Raised Lutheran, David was for many years afterwards active in charismatic churches, first encountering distinctively Reformed theology from Reformed teachers visiting those circles; men like James Jordan, R.J. Rushdoony, Francis Schaeffer, and Douglas Kelly were instrumental in turning his attention to the heritage of the Reformation. Most recently, David attended the Cambridge University Institute for Orthodox Studies. He is the author of 2000 Years in Two Days, Conversations on Worship, and Enter His Presence with Singing. He loves tea, fat books, good beer, boxing, weight training, and his beloved Chicago Cubs.
